HOT SPRINGS — Beth Neff, 2019 Bath County Christmas Mother, says the  program is moving along and the application deadline has passed for the program this year.
“I am so very pleased with the response from our donors this year in and out of Bath County,” Mrs. Neff said.   Monetary donations are coming in and we are hoping more will respond.
“We have a large number of applicants this year. The need is great,” she added.
Neff also noted that students from the both Valley and Millboro elementary schools, as well as Bath County High School are also contributing.
“We have elementary children making angels for the angel trees that are displayed in some of our banks here in Bath,” she said.   “The high school clubs are really pitching in to help this year also. Some are adopting a child for Christmas.”
Neff also noted that other classes are making wooden toys and gifts, while another is making signs for the Christmas Mother Shop.
“Both elementary schools and Bath County High School are conducting canned food drives,” she added. “I cannot thank them enough for what they are doing.
“This is truly a community program where people are working hard and giving graciously so others can have a Christmas,” she continued.
Mrs. Neff also noted that the program is still seeking donations.
“It is never too late to help,”  she said.
Monetary donations  may be sent to Bath County Christmas Mother, P.O. Box 292, Hot Springs, Va.,  24445.
To “adopt” (sponsor) a child for Christmas, contact Mrs. Neff at (540) 839-5059 or email her at christmasmother19@gmail.com.
