INDEPENDENCE — Covington had five runner-up finishes at the Class 1, Region C wrestling tournament Saturday at Grayson County High School.
George Young (152), Hunter Tallman (160), Kent Bullock (170), Braden Toombs (195) and Blaine Pettitt (285) all lost in championship bouts.
The host Blue Devils won four individual titles on the way to the region team championship.
George Wythe was the runner-up, while the Cougars finished fifth in the six-team regional field.
The Cougars return to Grayson on Friday and Saturday for the Class, 1 West Super Regional.
The top six finishers in each weight class advance to the state tournament.
