Nancy Scott Simmons, 77, of 616 Jonestown Rd., died Friday, January 31, 2020, at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem.
Mrs. Simmons was born May 4, 1942, in Alleghany County the daughter of the late Bret and Lula Reynolds Scott.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Scott.
She retired from the H.O. Canfield Corporation and had attended First Christian Church.
Surviving are her husband of 56 years, William “ Sonny” Simmons, of Covington; a daughter, Tammie Hubbard, of Covington; a son, Dale Simmons and girlfriend, Cynthia Phillips, of Covington; six grandchildren, Kelly Simmons, Lisa Simmons, Savannah Simmons, Tabitha Simmons, Harley Simmons, and Jessica Hubbard; a great- grandchild, Alexis Williams; two brothers Harrison Scott and wife, Becky, and Marvin Scott, all of Covington, a sister, Evelyn Knick and her husband, Jackie, of WA, and a number of nieces and nephews.
The graveside service will be held Tuesday, February 4, 2020, at 2:00 PM in the Lone Star Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating assisted by the Rev. J.B. Broughman.
The family will receive their friends Tuesday from noon until 1:30 PM at Arritt Funeral Home.
The interment will be held in Lone Star Cemetery
