ALLEGHANY HIGHLANDS, Va. (VR) – As part of this year’s local elections, candidate meet and greet sessions will once again be held by the Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce and Tourism to provide voters the opportunity to hear directly from individuals seeking office. These meet and greets are intended to encourage civic engagement, increase transparency, and give residents the chance to make informed decisions at the ballot box.
The Chamber is inviting all candidates whose names appear on the ballot, as well as any registered write-in candidates, to participate.

“Our goal is to give every candidate, whether officially listed or running as a write-in, the opportunity to share their vision and priorities with the Alleghany Highlands community.” said Josh Taylor, Executive Director of the Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce and Tourism.

These sessions will provide a casual, open setting where voters can engage one-on-one with candidates, ask questions, and learn more about their priorities. Dates, times, and locations for the events will be announced in the coming weeks.

Write-in candidates who wish to take part in the forums are encouraged to contact Makayla Nobles by calling the Chamber office at (540)962-2178 or by emailing mnobles@ahchamber.com for details on participation.
