The Virginia Conference of Advent Christian Churches announces its 125th Annual Session to be held March 13-15 at the Central Advent Christian Church, located at 3515 Longdale Furnace Road, Clifton Forge.
The Virginia Conference was organized Nov. 12, 1896, at Hamilton Chapel, located in Highland County.  The first church building was dedicated in October of 1894 in Highland County.
There are many Advent Christian churches currently serving the area.  Union View Advent Christian church was founded in 1903; Oak Grove Advent Christian Church in 1908; Iron Gate Advent Christian Church in 1909; and Lone Star Advent Christian Church in 1910.
Central Advent Christian Church was founded in 1938 and was initially intended as the Virginia Conference meeting site but now serves a local congregation. As Central Church was initially built as the conference meeting location, it gladly looks forward to hosting the 125th anniversary conference meetings.
The 2020 conference begins Friday, March 13, at 2 p.m. with a Camp ACCOVAC board meeting followed by the VA Conference Executive meeting at 3 p.m.  Evening worship will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the sanctuary of the church.
The message will be provided by Reverend Amy Williams from the Mechanicsville Advent Christian Church with special music provided by the Mechanicsville Praise Team.
The annual Virginia Conference Business meeting will be held on Saturday, March 14, at 9:30 a.m. in the church sanctuary with delegate registration beginning at 8:30 a.m.
A hymn sing combined with history of the denomination and of the Virginia Conference will be held in the sanctuary of the church beginning at 2 p.m.
Evening worship services will again begin at 6:30 p.m. with the Rev. T.G. Ayers from the Community Advent Christian Church in Roanoke providing the message.  Special music will be provided by Ms. Mary Pandolfini.
A memorial service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 15, with the Rev. Gene Ayers of Central Advent Christian Church providing the message followed by morning worship with the Rev. Doug Moore, retired pastor of Lone Star Advent Christian Church providing the message.
The public is invited to attend all worship and hymn sing services.
The theme for the 125th anniversary conference meetings and worship services is “Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow,” taken from Hebrews 13: 8 and the song for this year’s conference is titled “Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow”.
For further information regarding the Virginia Conference annual business meeting, please contact the Rev. Gene Ayers at Central Advent Christian Church.  He can be reached at (540) 354-4727.
