The Boiling Springs Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad recently held its annual election of officers and banquet.
Elections were held on Jan. 21, while the banquet was held Jan. 25 at Lone Star Baptist Church.
Ronnie Black, past president of the Virginia State Firefighters Association, performed the oaths of office.
Eighty-one attended the event that was catered by A&B Bakery.
Working officers include: Chief 5: Stacey Byer; Assistant Chief 5-1: Ethan Howard; Fire Captain 5: Ken Martin; Fire First Lt. 5: Jimmy Byer; Fire Second Lt. 5-1: Cory Sparks; Fire Second Lt. 5-2:?Shawn Wolfe; Fire Second Lt. 5-3: Gary Hepler; Fire Second Lt. 5-4: Lynn Jefferies; Fire Training Officer: Elizabeth Martin.
Rescue Captain 500: Sandy Byer; Rescue First Lt. 501: Elizabeth Martin; Rescue Second Lt. 502: Kristen Tucker.
Social officers include: President: Ken Martin; Vice President: Brenda Wilcher; Second Vice President: Steve Weikle; Secretary: Elizabeth Martin; Treasurer: Mark Wolfe; Assistant Treasurer: Betty Wolfe; Financial Secretary: Ethan Howard; Parlimentarian: Shawn Wolfe; Chaplain: Betty Wolfe; Assistant Chaplain: Sandy Byer; Sergeant at Arms: Doug Persinger; Quartermaster: Leona Horton; Board of Governors Representative: Betty Wolfe; Alternate BOG: Jimmy Byer.
The Boiling Springs Fire Department has been serving the county for 62 years, It was organized in 1958.
