Georgeanna “Squeaky” Lee Hardesty

Georgeanna “Squeaky” Lee Hardesty passed away unexpectedly in a vehicle accident on July 22, 2025. The family is deeply saddened and shocked by her sudden death. Georgeanna was born on January 20, 1974, in Dallas, Texas and resided with her husband Neil Hardesty in Iron Gate, Virginia at the time of her passing.

She was the proud mother of five children and adopted by many others as their surrogate mom. She always cooked like she was expecting an army at every meal. A skill acquired by being the youngest of ten children and having an open-door policy for everyone she knew and loved.

Georganna loved dragon flies, sunflowers, motorcycles and life. She was known for her brutal honesty, but you always knew her thoughts and feelings came from a place of love and good intentions. Her children, whom she loved more than life itself, knew she meant business whenever they stepped out of line—she’d go full “Donkey Kong” with her trusty wooden spoon. That spoon was never far from reach, tucked in her purse like a secret weapon, even long after her children had grown taller than her.

Georgeanna grew up in Texas and Oklahoma. She spent time in her younger adult years in Germany, and for the last eight years has lived in central Virginia. She met Neil Hardesty in 2018 and they married on May 28, 2023. He was the love of her life and soulmate. Both loved the outdoors and riding their motorcycles together as often as possible. She served as a proud Abate member of the Highland Chapter and two other chapters along the way.

Georgeanna is survived by her loving husband, Neil Hardesty; her children, Catelin Hill, Kenneth Hill, Derrick Hill, and Anias Moody; her granddaughter, Charlie Ann; and her siblings, Cheri, Kennie Lee, Steve, Robert, Laura, and Tina.

She was preceded in death by her son, Chance; her father, George Anderson; her mother, Modena Watters—whom she lost at a young age; and her beloved auntie-mom, Beatrice George.

We would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers, and there will be a celebration of her big, beautiful life on a date yet to be determined.

Nicely Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
