ROANOKE — Alleghany’s girls swim team scored three more wins Friday night at the Kirk YMCA.
The Mountaineers won five individual events and posted victories over William Fleming (108-24), Staunton River (99-34) and Franklin County (81-75).
Alivia Hoover, Kiersten Smith, Charlotte Smith and Abby Martin combined for victories in both the 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays.
Hoover won the 200 freestyle, Martin captured the 50 freestyle and Sidney Donnan touched first in the 100 freestyle.
“Sidney PRed in both the 100 free and the 200 IM (individual medley) — she had a big meet,” said AHS coach Lee Anne Bowling-Angle.
David Donnan had the lone Alleghany win on the boys side with a victory in the 100 yard backstroke.
The Mountaineer boys beat William Fleming (53-41) and lost to Staunton River (62-43) and Franklin County (132-24).
Friday’s meet ended a busy stretch for the Mountaineers.
“I’m glad the week is over,” said Bowling-Angle. “We are tired and need rest.”
Alleghany’s next meet is Thursday against Lord Botetourt at the Daleville YMCA.
