COVINGTON, Va. (VR) – Olde Town Covington, Inc. is proud to announce the appointment of Kester Dingus as its new Executive Director. With a strong background in business management, community engagement, and a deep-rooted connection to the Alleghany Highlands, Dingus brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the organization as it continues to grow and revitalize the heart of Covington.

Kester joins Olde Town Covington at a pivotal moment as the organization advances within the Virginia Main Street “Advancing Main Street” initiative—a designation that positions Olde Town Covington for expanded resources, capacity-building, and impactful downtown revitalization efforts. His leadership will be instrumental in steering these efforts to support local businesses, enhance public spaces, and foster a vibrant downtown culture.

“We are thrilled to welcome Kester to this role,” said Afton Griffin, Interim Board President of Olde Town Covington, Inc. “His vision and experience are exactly what our organization needs as we move into this exciting new phase of growth. The board is energized and optimistic about what lies ahead.”

In addition to this exciting leadership transition, Olde Town Covington is proud to acknowledge Smurfit WestRock as a Silver Sponsor. Their support demonstrates a continued investment in community development and the shared belief in the importance of a strong, connected downtown district.

“I’m excited to serve as the new Executive Director for OTC,” said Dingus. “I look forward to continuing and expanding the work that the Board of Directors and volunteers have been doing for the businesses in Downtown Covington.”
