On Monday, as we commemorated Memorial Day, we remembered those who paid the ultimate sacrifice so we can live freely in the greatest Nation on Earth. Last week, we passed the One Big Beautiful Bill, a significant step forward in advancing President Trump’s America First agenda. We also saw President Trump sign into law landmark legislation to protect Americans, especially minors, from non-consensual AI-generated images by requiring social media platforms to take swift action. As we head into a District Work Period this week, I look forward to meeting with folks across the Sixth District and continuing to fight for the values that matter most to our communities.

House Republicans Deliver Major Win with the One Big Beautiful Bill

House Republicans passed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, a major budget reconciliation package that advances President Trump’s America First agenda and delivers long-overdue relief to hardworking Americans. I was proud to support this historic legislation and stand with my colleagues as we work to deliver real results for the people of Virginia’s Sixth District.

This legislation provides real, lasting tax relief, restores fiscal sanity, secures our border, reins in Washington’s overreach, and invests in national defense. It strengthens vital programs like Medicaid for those who need it most, protects Second Amendment rights, and puts American energy back to work. Simply put, this bill puts families first, supports small businesses, defends farmers, and gets our economy growing again.

Without this bill, the expiration of the Trump tax cuts would have hit the Sixth District hard:

     •  A 26% tax hike for the average taxpayer

     •  A halved Child Tax Credit for 78,150 families

     •  A slashed Guaranteed Deduction for 92% of taxpayers

     •  A 43.4% tax rate for 51,860 small businesses

That’s why this legislation was so critical. We stood up for the forgotten men and women who are tired of Washington working against them. This bill delivers permanent tax relief, preserves family budgets, and ensures our small businesses can grow and hire.

The Senate now has the opportunity to take up this legislation and send it to President Trump’s desk. The American people are ready for strong, commonsense leadership that puts this country back on the right track—and with this bill, we’re leading the way.

Defending the Second Amendment

From day one, I’ve made it clear that our Second Amendment rights are essential. That’s why I introduced the Hearing Protection Act to eliminate outdated federal regulations, taxes, and red tape regarding suppressors. These devices protect the hearing of law-abiding gun owners, hunters, and sportsmen and should never be subject to burdens designed to restrict their use.

The $200 tax and lengthy registration process under the National Firearms Act of 1934 serve no public safety purpose. They only burden responsible Americans exercising their constitutional rights. That’s why I fought to include Section 2 of my Hearing Protection Act in the One Big Beautiful Bill. This provision removes suppressors from the National Firearms Act—cutting unnecessary regulations and restoring common sense.

As the Senate prepares to consider this package, I will continue working to ensure this critical protection stays in the bill. This is a major step forward for gun owners and constitutional conservatives. I will always stand up for the rights of law-abiding Americans.

Standing Up for Victims of Exploitation in the Digital Age

President Trump signed the bipartisan TAKE IT DOWN Act into law last week, marking a major victory in the fight to protect Americans, especially minors, from online exploitation. I was proud to vote for this commonsense legislation, which criminalizes the publication of non-consensual intimate imagery (NCII), including AI-generated deepfakes.

Advocated for by First Lady Melania Trump, the law requires social media platforms to remove these images within 48 hours of a victim’s request and empowers the FTC to hold bad actors accountable. With victims as young as 15 facing devastating harm, this law closes critical gaps in current state laws and ensures swift action against offenders. Protecting the privacy and dignity of law-abiding Americans, especially our youth, is not only a moral duty but a matter of justice and accountability.

Honoring Our Fallen Heroes

On Memorial Day, we pause to remember the American heroes who gave their lives in defense of our Nation. We honor those who are still missing in action, lost or buried at sea, and the thousands more who rest in eternal peace. Their sacrifice is the reason we enjoy the freedoms we cherish today. We will never forget their service. May God bless those who serve, and may He continue to bless the United States of America.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve as your Congressman. If my office can ever be of assistance, please contact my Washington office at (202) 225-5431.
