Vernon McLaughlin had a new bowling ball drilled Wednesday night.
And in the first game out of the box, McLaughlin strung together the front eight strikes on his way to a 703 set.
Just 24 hours later, McLaughlin used his Roto Grip Wild Streak to go four strikes better.
Bowling in the Hootenanny Trio Fun League Thursday, McLaughlin followed a rough 165 first game with a perfect 300, the first of his bowling career.
The left-hander ended the night with a 217 for a 682 set.
McLaughlin’s 300 was the 47th in the history of the center, but the first-ever by a left-hander.
