Barbara Anne Bailey

Barbara Anne Bailey, 91, of East Windsor, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Meadow Lakes in
East Windsor with her loving family at her side.

Barbara was born in Clifton Forge, VA in 1934, daughter of Charles and Ruth Sink. She graduated from Clifton Forge High School in 1953 and worked at W. T. Grant Co. and the Mizzy Plant. Barbara married Walter E. Campbell, Jr. in 1954 and in 1967 they moved to New Jersey, with their four children. There she worked at Mobil Research Center in Hopewell Junction, in the library and in the Executive Branch Offices.

In 1980, Barbara married Edward L. Bailey, Jr. and in 1987 they moved to Berkeley Springs, WV. Barbara was a devout member of the United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and enjoyed Sunday morning Bible Study. She was also a longtime volunteer with the Relay for Life, the War Memorial Hospital, and Hospice of the Panhandle. In 2019, Barbara and Ed moved back to New Jersey to be closer to family.

Some of Barbara’s fondest memories of her youth were walking across the swinging bridge, which was a daily occurrence growing up on Verge Street. She loved playing hide and seek at night, horseshoes, football, baseball and playing cards. Barbara and Ed enjoyed visiting West Virginia State Parks and were members of the VIPP Club (Very Important Parks Person). Barbara loved God and she shared that with everyone she met. She also loved giving hugs!

Barbara was predeceased by her first husband, Walter E. Campbell, Jr.; her husband, Edward L. Bailey. Jr.; and her siblings, Mary Sink, Thomas Sink, Jean Fairburn, Lillian Engle, Charles Sink, Jr., and Raymond Sink; she is survived by her sons, Michael Campbell and his wife, Virginia, of Aurora, CO and Paul Campbell and his wife, Lisa, of Lawrenceville, NJ; her daughters, Ruth Miller and her husband, Scott, of Blue Hill, ME and Kathy Tindall and her husband, Kevin, of Hamilton, NJ; her seven grandchildren; her three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff in the Meadowside Unit at Meadow Lakes in East Windsor, NJ and the Penn Med Hospice staff and volunteers for taking such loving care of Barbara.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ. A Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 p.m. with the Reverend Dr. Robert Neugebauer officiating.

Cremation services will be private

In lieu of flowers, the Bailey family asks you to hug someone; that is what Barbara would have done! Contributions may be made in Barbara’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association by visiting https://donorservices.alz.org or toPenn Med Hospice.
