CALLED WORK SESSION
MAY 06, 2025, at 5:30 PM

The City of Covington Council will hold a Joint Called Work Session on TUESDAY, MAY 06, 2025, following the 5:30 PM. Called meeting to appoint two Planning Commission members. The meeting will occur in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 333 W. Locust Street, Covington, Virginia.

CALL TO ORDER

APPROVAL OF AGENDA (Portion of meeting used to add or make changes.)

PUBLIC HEARING City of Covington Council will conduct a Joint Public Hearing with Covington Planning Commission pursuant to Sections 15.2-1427 (D), 15.2-2006, and 15.2-1800 of the Code of Virginia (1950, as amended) on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, immediately following the above-mentioned meeting at 5:30 p.m.

The joint meeting is to consider: The rezoning request of two lots on Holly Street with tax map Section 19- Block 139-Lot 3 and tax map Section 19-Block 139-Lot 4 owned by Kings Tire.

ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS

1. To Consider Resolution R-25-14: Opioid Settlement Recoveries Expenses – Walgreen Payment 3 = $2,154.84.
2. To Consider Resolution R-25-15: Donations to Parks & Rec Youth Day (Multiple Businesses – No City Match).
Also, Donations to the Police Department’s Shop with a Cop and Nite Out activities (Local Business – No City Match).
3. To Consider Resolution R-25-16: Wastewater Fund – Transfer surplus funds from the Water fund to the Wastewater fund.
