HOT SPRINGS — Lee Anne Bowling-Angle was honored as Dabney S. Lancaster Community College’s recipient of the 2019 Educator of Year award at the Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce and Tourism’s annual dinner meeting.
The meeting was held Saturday, March 7, at The Omni Homestead Resort in Hot Springs.
Bowling-Angle earned a bachelor of science degree in biology from Concord University, her master’s of education degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of Virginia, and a degree in chemical and life science from the University of Maryland.
For 15 years she taught biology at Alleghany High  School (she still serves as head coach for the swim team), before joining DSLCC in 2016 as the program head of the science department, where she teaches biology, anatomy and physiology and microbiology.
She serves as the secretary of the Faculty Committee, Professional Development Coordinator, and Search Advocate at DSLCC. She also volunteers with Valley View Animal Rescue and the Chamber of Commerce.
She and her husband, Billy, and their two daughters, Savannah and Maria, reside in Bath County.
