CLIFTON FORGE, Va. (VR)– Mountain Gateway Community College (MGCC) is excited to announce that
registration is now open for the Summer and Fall 2025 semesters. Whether you are a high
school graduate looking to further your education, a working adult wanting to change careers, or
someone seeking to advance in your current field, MGCC offers affordable, flexible, and
supportive educational opportunities to help you achieve your goals. Summer classes will begin
on May 27, and Fall classes start on August 25.

MGCC offers a variety of in-demand programs designed to help students succeed in today’s
competitive job market. New programs in Liberal Arts and Medical Laboratory Technology,
offered in partnership with Virginia Western Community College and LewisGale Hospital
Alleghany, will be available this fall. In addition, MGCC continues to offer other sought-after
programs in Business, Education, Electrical, Forestry, General Studies, Hospitality, Information
Technology, Nursing, Science, and Welding. These programs are specifically designed to equip
students with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in various professional fields.

MGCC understands that adult learners need flexible learning options. Whether you choose to
study in-person or take advantage of online and virtual learning, the college is committed to
offering education that fits your schedule. With small class sizes—typically 15 students per
instructor—students can expect personalized attention from instructors who are dedicated to
helping them succeed. The college’s affordable tuition rates make it possible for students to
pursue their academic goals without financial strain.

A major milestone for the college this fall is the opening of the Joe Wilson Workforce Center, a
cutting-edge facility that will greatly enhance the college’s capacity for workforce training. This
new center will increase MGCC’s ability to deliver hands-on training by 200% and is expected to
boost enrollment in career and technical programs by at least 120%. The Wilson Workforce
Development Center will offer expanded lab and classroom spaces for a variety of programs,
including welding, precision machining, industrial technology, building trades, diesel mechanics,
CDL, electrical, plumbing, and more. This development will allow MGCC to provide even more
opportunities for students to gain the practical skills needed for high-demand careers.
With campuses in both Clifton Forge and Buena Vista, MGCC ensures that students throughout
the region have access to quality education in a convenient location. The college’s commitment
to flexible learning options, combined with personalized attention from dedicated instructors,
creates a supportive environment where students can balance work, family, and their education.
If you are ready to take the next step toward achieving your educational and career goals, now is
the time to apply. Registration for both Summer and Fall semesters is open, and MGCC is ready

to help you succeed. For more information or to apply, visit www.mgcc.edu or contact Student
Services at 540-863-2820.

More information regarding the Joe Wilson Workforce Center Grand Opening will be released the near future.
