Obituary: Boyd Bratton

 

Boyd R. Bratton, born September 25, 1934, in Paint Bank, VA, passed away peacefully in Tennessee on March 12, 2025.

 

Born to the late Ulysses and Sally Bratton. Boyd was raised in Covington, VA and attended Dunlap High School. 

 

After graduating, Boyd enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Proudly serving his country for 20 years. His dedication and commitment continued as he transitioned to a career with the United States Postal Service in Orlando, Florida, where he worked until his retirement. He then relocated to Sevierville, Tennessee where he spent the last several years with his family. 

 

Boyd was a devoted son, husband, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia, and his four brothers, Byron, Virgil Dale, Gerald, and Barlan. His memory lives on through his children: Sandy Oser of Sevierville, TN; Wanda Keeling of Orlando, FL; and Jerry Bratton of Orlando, FL. He is also survived by his two brothers, Howard of Statesville, NC and Daniel of Buchanan, VA. Five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

 

Boyd will be remembered for his love for his family and his commitment to his country. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten. 

 

In keeping with Boyd’s wishes, his body has been cremated.

 

There will be a celebration of Boyd’s life on April 25, 2025, from 4-6 PM at the Springhill Suites – 120 Christmas Tree Lane, Pigeon Forge, TN 37863.
