It was great to meet with Virginia representatives from Americans for Prosperity, including State Director Tim Parrish, to discuss their advocacy for pro-growth policies and the importance of extending the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act to keep more money in the pockets of hardworking Americans.

House Republicans had a productive week by advancing a clean continuing resolution to keep the government funded through the end of the fiscal year in September. Meanwhile, President Trump is getting America back on track, signing 89 Executive Orders to reverse the damage of the past four years. I joined my Republican Study Committee colleagues to highlight our efforts to codify these orders into law and ensure they stand the test of time. After years of soaring prices under Biden, Americans are finally seeing relief as inflation drops faster than expected. Back in the district, I met with local organizations making a difference, toured Precision Fabrics Group, and recognized a standout young athlete for his achievements. I will continue fighting for the values and priorities of Virginia’s Sixth District.

Keeping the Government Open

Last week, House Republicans took action to keep the government open by passing a clean continuing resolution (CR) supported by President Trump. This crucial step ensures we can continue implementing the President’s commonsense America First agenda, securing our border, draining the swamp, and strengthening our economy. Before the vote, I joined Fox & Friends First to emphasize how this resolution provides the time Congress needs to get our fiscal house in order and avoid the dysfunction that too often plagues Washington.

This CR was a direct response to the demands of the American people. By supporting this measure, Republicans ensured our service members and essential federal employees would remain paid and on the job. Meanwhile, Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer did the right thing by rejecting the reckless move by most Democrats to shut down the government.

As President Trump continues to work to fulfill his promises, this CR gives us the resources we need to move the America First agenda forward. We are committed to fighting for the priorities of the American people and will keep pushing for the change they demanded last November.

Advancing the America First Agenda with the Republican Study Committee

The Republican Study Committee (RSC) is the conservative conscience of our conference, championing conservative solutions that restore fiscal responsibility, strengthen our national defense, and uphold the values that make our nation great. As Vice Chairman of the RSC, I was proud to join my colleagues at a press conference to reaffirm our commitment to advancing the America First agenda. The American people overwhelmingly support President Trump’s leadership and the Executive Orders that have fueled economic growth, protected our freedoms, and put our country on the right track.

During the press conference, we outlined our plan to codify these Executive Orders into law, ensuring they cannot simply be undone by future administrations. These policies should be permanent, safeguarding their benefits for generations to come. Our nation thrives when we put the American people first and uphold the principles that made this country strong. I look forward to working with my RSC colleagues to turn these Executive Orders into law and keep fighting for the future of our great nation.

Delivering Real Financial Relief to Hardworking Americans

For years, hardworking Americans struggled under Bidenflation, watching prices for groceries, gas, and housing skyrocket. But thanks to the leadership of House Republicans and President Trump, inflation is finally easing, and relief is here. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) just dropped to its lowest level in four years, giving families much-needed breathing room.

Gas prices have fallen to their lowest levels in years, helping drivers and lowering the cost of transporting goods. Mortgage rates have also declined for six straight weeks, making homeownership more attainable for millions of Americans. Even travel expenses are dropping, allowing families to visit loved ones without facing steep airfare costs.

House Republicans are working to build on this momentum with a budget reconciliation bill that will further lower costs and stop the Left’s push for massive tax hikes. Under Biden, grocery prices jumped 23%, energy prices soared 34%, and housing costs surged 25%. House Republicans and President Trump are turning things around by cutting burdensome regulations and unleashing American energy dominance. I will continue fighting for policies that put hardworking Americans first and ensure the prosperity they deserve.
