Ruth Perry Hepler, 92, of 2609 Snake Run Road, died, Saturday, December 28, 2019, at the Woodlands Health and Rehab Center in Clifton Forge.
Mrs. Hepler was born October 4, 1927, in Bath County a daughter of the late Thomas L. and Edith Carpenter Perry. 
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Husband, Tommy C. Hepler, Sr., in 2010; her Grandmother who raised her, Jenny Carpenter; a Brother, Ira Perry and a Sister, Shannon Farley.
She had retired from the Alleghany County School System as a cafeteria worker at Callaghan Elementary School. She was a longtime member of the Sugar Valley Baptist Church and loved quilting, canning, gardening and cooking for her family.
Surviving are one Daughter and Son-in-law, Sue and Jim Porterfield of Crows; four Sons and Daughters-in-law, Tommy and Beverly Hepler, Jr., of Rogersville, TN;  Bobby and Bonnie Hepler of Sweet Chalybeate, Jimmy and Mary Hepler of Sweet Chalybeate;  Sammy and Debbie Hepler of New Hartford, IA, and; eleven grandchildren, Tammy and Roger Jones,  Michael and Kelli Hepler,  Lori Ann Hepler, Robbie and Amber Hepler, Wendi and Tony Redman, Angie Schumaker, Sherri and Daniel Tucker, Jason and Melissa Hepler,  Jesse and Missy Hepler, Jody and Stephen Bardol  and  Brian and Michelle Porterfield;   fifteen great grandchildren,  Grace Jones, Jacob Hepler, Gabe Hepler, Connor Hepler, Isaac Hepler, Seth Hepler, Alayna Schumaker,  Caleb Tucker,  Hannah Tucker, Abigail Tucker,  Elijah Tucker,  Owen Hepler,  Caitlyn Porterfield, Hayden Porterfield  and  Madison Porterfield;  one Brother, Sharn Perry and his Wife, Ella of Waynesboro;  two Sisters, Dorothy Hepler of Covington and Norma Hepler of Evansdale, IA  and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Friday, January 3, 2020, at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with Mary Hepler and Burt Caul officiating.
Interment will be made in Lone Star Cemetery.
The family will receive their friends Thursday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Arritt Funeral Home.
