LOW MOOR — The Alleghany Highlands YMCA?is closed through March 26 as a precaution over the Coronavirus outbreak.
The decision to close the facility in Low Moor, as well as the east and west learning centers, was made Friday after Gov. Ralph Northam closed public schools for two weeks.
“This is certainly not a decision we made lightly. We realize this is an inconvenience to our members and families, and one that will financially impact a great many of our staff, but we feel it is our responsibility to join with others to help flatten the curve and slow the penetration of COVID-19,” said Dr. William Lanehart, chief volunteers officer for the YMCA’s board of directors.
