‘Valentines For Vets’ At Highlands Regional Library

Nancy Newhard will return to the Alleghany Highlands Regional Library on Tuesday, Feb. 4, to assist people in creating valentine cards for veterans.
Newhard, who has overseen this program for several years at the Alleghany Highlands Arts and Crafts Center, will be available  in the library’s W.N. “John” Rice Community Room from 6 to 8 p.m. She will provide necessary materials and give guidance to help participants create cards. 
The valentines will either be mailed to active military personnel or delivered to the veterans’ medical center  in Salem for former military members.
The program is open to people of all ages, and no registration is required.
