David Nelson Vess
David Nelson Vess, age 75, of 809 Rose Avenue, Clifton Forge, Virginia died on Monday, February 10, 2025 at his residence.
David was born on October 30, 1949 in Clifton Forge to the late Nelson Matthew Vess and Joyce Alice Nicely Vess. He was a retired steelworker for Semco of Roanoke and enjoyed following NASCAR and watching football.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dianne Lynn Conner Vess; a brother, Marion Vess; and a sister, Betty Jean Brown.
He is survived by a son, David Yee (wife, Janet) of North Carolina; three grandchildren, David Yee (Rebecca Jerge) of Woodbridge, and Trinity Yee and Kyle Yee, both of North Carolina; three step grandchildren, Joseph Kitt, Samantha Kitta, and Sharlotte Kitta, all of North Carolina; a great grandchild, Nora Yee of Woodbridge; a sister, Mary Campbell (Bill) of Low Moor; three brothers, Steve Vess (Becky) of Iron Gate, and Dennis Vess (Diane) and Dale Vess (Betty Coleman), both of Covington; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Mr. Chris Fisher officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge. There will be no formal visitation. Friends may call at Nicely Funeral Home during business hours.
