STAUNTON — Staunton put fiour players in double figures here Monday in an 86-46 non-district boys basketball win over Staunton.
Javon Battle led the way for the Storm with 19 points, Ethan Painter scored 11 and both Elijah Simms and Malcolm Ellison had 10 apiece.
Javier Yancey led the Cougars with 16 points and Jacob Roldan added 11.
Covington trailed 49-26 at the half.
The Cougars (1-1 Pioneer District, 3-7 overall) return to league play Thursday night when they host Highland County.
Covington jayvees lost a 63-46 to Staunton Monday evening.
Hayden Rodgers and Purcel Turner both had 12 for the Cougars. Levi Dressler scored nine, Hunter McClain had six, Ashton Cook had three and both Dylan Williams and Justice Maloney scored two each.
