WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. — Katherine Virginia Patterson, 95, of White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., passed away Thursday, Jan. 16, 2020, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center. 
Born Nov. 25, 1924, at Union, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Homer and Mary Gooch Patterson. 
Katherine was retired from the Greenbrier Hotel, where she had worked in housekeeping.  
She was always “on the go” traveling around with folks all the time. 
Katherine never met a stranger. 
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for all of the people that gave their mother a ride from place to place and made sure she got home safely throughout the years. 
She was a member of the First Church of God in Christ at White Sulphur, W.Va.
In addition to her parents she was preceded by one son, Gary Patterson; 10 brothers, Edward, Okey, George Triplett, Robert, Lawrence, Ernest, Harold, Herman, Richard and Jimmy; five sisters, Thelma, Irene, Roberta, Glenna and Lorane. 
Survivors include, one son, Roger Patterson and wife Michelle of White Sulphur Springs, W.Va.; one daughter, Marilyn Patterson of Huntington, W.Va.; two brothers, Clarence Patterson and wife Barbara of Brooklyn, N.Y. and David Patterson and wife Carolyn of Nokesville; one sister, Louetta Patterson of Columbus, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Damion Patterson, Brandi Hollingshead, Tanesha Lee, Derrick Patterson, Nick Carrington, Breonna Patterson, Isaac Patterson and Jordan Patterson; several greatgrandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Groves-Mann Funeral Home Chapel in Union, W.Va., with Elder Randall Allen and the Rev. Greg Scott officiating. 
The family will receive friends today from 1 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
