Michael Glenn Hancock, 74, of Nottingham, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 11, 2024. He was the loving husband of Kathy (Newcomb) Hancock.

Born in Covington, VA on June 11, 1950, Mike was the son of the late George and Dorothy (Via) Hancock. Raised and educated in Covington, Mike attended Covington High School and graduated in 1968. Mike was drafted in 1970 and served in the United States Army in Vietnam. He earned the rank of Spec. 4, also receiving a bronze star for bravery.

He returned to Covington where he met his wife of 47 years, Kathy (Newcomb) Hancock, also from Covington, VA. The two were married on November 4, 1977, at the McAllister Memorial Presbyterian Church in Covington. Mike and Kathy settled in Covington until moving to New Hampshire in 1985 where Mike worked for many years in quality control at Foss Manufacturing and more recently at QA Technologies as an R&D Technician. Mike enjoyed time outdoors hunting, fishing, and playing golf. Above all, the greatest joy in Mike’s life was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a life member of Covington VFW post 1033 and D.A.V.

In addition to his wife, Mike is survived by his children, Heather Hancock and her wife Erin Powers of Epping, Chad Hancock of Merrill, WI and Bridgett Noel of Florida, as well as his brother, Ronald E. Hancock of Covington, VA.

Family and Friends gathered to honor and remember Mike for a period of visitation on Friday, October 18, 2024 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the Remick and Gendron Funeral Home, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton, NH 03842. A memorial service was held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, in the funeral home at 11:00 AM.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nursing staff from Brookhaven Hospice for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Mike’s memory to:
