David Thompson Sr.

Mr. David Carl Thompson, Sr. , age 50, of Covington, died Saturday, February 1, 2020, at LewisGale Medical Center, Salem. 
Mr. Thompson was born October 11, 1969 in Alleghany County, the son of James Lawrence Thompson, Jr. and Brenda Fridley Thompson.
 During his working career, he was employed as a truck driver.  In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.  Most of all, David enjoyed “hanging out” with his boys. 
In addition to his parents, Mr. Thompson is survived by four sons, David Carl Thompson, Jr., Austin Ray Thompson, Adam Scott Thompson and Aaron Thompson; two grandchildren, Grayson Ray Thompson and Rowne Edward Thompson; two brothers, James L. Thompson, III and Christopher Ellis Thompson, Sr.; and a sister, Kimberly Dawn Perez.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 7, 2020, from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Edith Snedegar officiating.  Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David Carl Thompson, Jr., Austin Ray Thompson, Adam Scott Thompson, Christopher Ellis Thompson, Sr., Chris Ellis Thompson, Jr. and Andrew Thompson.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 7:00 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. at Loving Funeral Home.
