Local Church News for 3/14/20

First Baptist Church
First Baptist Church, Clifton Forge, will have the Pastors Interdenominational Christian Alliance’s 2020 Spring Revival from Tuesday, March 17, through Thursday, March 19, at 7 p.m. nightly. Revivalists will be the Rev. R.D. Jenkins of Pine Street Baptist Church, Covington; the Rev. Rosetta Stewart of Historic First Baptist Church, Covington; and Elder Leon Taylor of First Church of God in Christ, Clifton Forge. First Baptist Church, Clifton Forge, will also celebrate Ushers’ Day during the 11 a.m. worship service. The Rev. Kevin Carpenter of Whosoever Will Church, West Virginia, will be the guest speaker. 

Wrightsville Baptist Church

Wrightsville Baptist Church will celebrate the 23rd anniversary of the Rev. Dr. Jerome Basham Sunday during a 3 p.m. service. Guest minister will be the Rev. Rodderick Jenkins Sr. He will be accompanied by the choir, congregation and ushers from Pine Street Baptist Church. Dinner will be served following the morning service.

Church News Guidelines

The deadline for submitting church news items to the Virginian Review is Thursday at 12 p.m. Church News items will be published Saturdays beginning one week prior to the event. Due to the number of churches in the Highlands, the newspaper does not publish separate stories and photographs related to church homecomings unless it is the only time the church meets during the year. Homecomings are listed in the church box with other church news items. Church anniversary stories are published once every five years, i.e. fifth anniversaries.
