Covington Police Chief J.B. Broughman has released his department’s activity report for February.
City dispatchers received 595 calls for service, 331 were police calls.
There were 110 rescue squad calls and 14 fire calls. Forty-three complaints were received concerning animals. There were 20 public works complaints. Ten calls were referred to other agencies.
Officers made eight misdemeanor arrests and one felony arrest.
Officers issued 23 traffic citations and nine parking tickets. Eighteen motor vehicle accidents were investigated. Officers answered 49 traffic-related calls.
Officers drove a total of 10,258 miles for the month.

– Simple assaults, six.
– Burglary/breaking and entering, two.
– Destruction of property/vandalism, six.
– Credit card fraud, one.
– Murder, one.
– Shoplifting, three.
– Theft from motor vehicle, one.
– Other larcenies, five.
– Weapons violations, one.
– Missing persons, one.
– Driving under the influence, one.
– Drunkeness, two.
– Non-violent family offenses, four.
