ROANOKE (AP) – Western Virginia’s former top prosecutor has been named clerk of the region’s federal court.
U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia says Julia Dudley will take over the job from retiring John Corcoran on Aug. 1.
Dudley served as U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Virginia from May 2008 until October 2009. She’s been with the agency since 1988.
Corcoran has held the post since 2001, but has worked for the government for more than 40 years.
