Claudine Bryan Fertig, 83, of 83 Incubator Hollow, Hot Springs, died Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010, at the Bath Community Hospital in Hot Springs.
She was born Aug. 18, 1926, in Rockbridge County, the daughter of William Jennings Bryan and Nettie Dell Clinebell.
Mrs. Fertig was married to Wyman Taylor Fertig, who preceded her in death on June 1, 1997. She was a retired housekeeper from The Homestead Resort. She was a member of Ashwood United Methodist Church. She enjoyed traveling and shopping.
She is survived by seven nephews, Jay Bryan and wife Janet, Jimmy Bryan and wife Frances, Carl Lewis Bryan and partner Tom Farmer, Carlos Ryder and friend Jenny, Lane Ryder, Chip Ryder and wife Cindy and Jamie Bryan; seven nieces, Patty Nelson and husband Lynn, Anita Troyer and husband Mike, Stephanie Bryan, Gloria Bryan, Heather Bryan, Jessica Nelson and Melissa Nelson; and a special friend and caregiver, Patricia Lowry.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Lewis, Carl and James Bryan; a sister, Bessie Ryder; a nephew, Donnie Bryan; and two nieces, Rhonda Sprouse and Betty Jo Bryan.
A funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home with the Rev. John Klink officiating. Interment will be in Union Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be “her nephews.”
The family will receive friends Wednesday immediately following the services.
