RICHMOND (AP) – Farmers from across Virginia are heading to the General Assembly to promote their legislative agenda for 2010.
The Virginia Farm Bureau Federation says county representatives from across the state will be in Richmond on Tuesday to buttonhole lawmakers on a range of issues.
They include proposed water quality mandates that do not provide funding to achieve those mandates, restrictions on animal care, property rights issues and support for forestry and farming programs.
Farm Bureau President Wayne F. Pryor says the day will also offer members a chance to educate lawmakers on issues important to farmers.
