Linda Dorsey Ross, 61, of 1212 Cherokee Trail, died Friday night, March 5, 2010, at Alleghany Regional Hospital.
Mrs. Ross was born March 28, 1948, in Nicholas County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Maynard and Ruby Spencer Dorsey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, David Dorsey.
She was a member of Covington Bible Church.
Surviving are her husband, Danny J. Ross of Covington; her son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Tamyra Ross of Covington; three grandchildren, Darcy Ross, Jackson Ross and James Mazy Ross, all of Covington; her sister and brother-in-law, Lenora and Mike Rogers of Parkersburg, W.Va.; two brothers, John Dorsey and his wife, Marcella, of Parkersburg, W.Va., and Joe Dorsey of Summersville, W.Va.; several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Covington Bible Church with the Rev. Howard Merrell officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Wayne Counts, Ray Livick, Buck Phillips, Nathan Miller, Frank Haynes Jr. and Mike Lomasney. Alternate pallbearer will be Ken Crowder.
Friends may pay their respects at any time at Arritt Funeral Home. The family will receive friends this evening from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at Arritt Funeral Home.
The family suggests that donations in Mrs. Ross’ name be made to the Covington Rescue Squad, 435 W. Hawthorne St., Covington, Va. 24426.
