WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. – Shelby Jean Weikle, 66, of Roanoke, and formerly of White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at Friendship Manor in Roanoke, after an extended illness.
Born Sept 24, 1943, at Little Creek near Alvon, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Guy and Nellie Wade Clendenen.
Shelby was of the Methodist faith. She was a retired waitress having worked locally at the former Shamrock Restaurant, Eagles Nest, and The Greenbrier. She retired from Don Ho’s restaurant in Roanoke.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Kenny Weikle; a sister, Ruby Davis; one granddaughter, Aria; and two brothers-in-law, Paul Davis and Don Pinnell.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Weikle of White Sulphur Springs and David Weikle of Roanoke; four sisters, Okell (Theodore) Camp, Hazel Pinnell, and Rosa (Wade) Bennett all of Alvon, W.Va., and Phyllis (Gerald) Campbell of White Sulphur Springs; two brothers, Cleo Clendenen and Nelson Clendenen both of Alvon, W.Va.; five grandchildren, Megan, Laken, Nicholas, Tyler, and Justin; and two great-grandchildren, Adra and Kingston. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
To honor her requests, there will be no visitation or services.
