RICHMOND (AP) – President Barack Obama has nominated the Roanoke County sheriff to serve as a U.S. marshal in Virginia’s Western District.
Gerald Holt was one of five nominees announced Thursday.
Holt has been a county sheriff since 1992.
He also chairs the Western Virginia Regional Jail Authority Board and is an adviser at the Roanoke County Criminal Justice Academy.
