Mr. Guy Keith Andrews, age 80, of 811 W. Chestnut Street, died Friday, February 5, 2010, at Alleghany Regional Hospital, Low Moor.

He was the husband of Christine Peters Andrews.

Mr. Andrews was born December 14, 1929, in the Natural Well section of Alleghany County, the son of the late Cecil Guy Andrews and Beulah Carpenter Andrews.

He served his country as a member of the United States Marines during the Korean War.

Mr. Andrews was employed as a mechanic, wrecker driver, welder, and worked on heavy equipment for Covington Motor Company and had formerly worked as a carpenter and enjoyed doing anything with his hands.

Mr. Andrews was a 50-year member of the Greenwood Presbyterian Church where he served his church as an elder.

He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed working in general, in his garden, flower beds, and had a tender place in his heart for any stray cat and made sure they had food and were taken care of.

In addition to his wife, Christine Peters Andrews, Mr. Andrews is survived by three daughters and son in laws; Lynn Ellen Chilcote and husband, Scott of Driftwood, PA, Donna A. Rock and husband, Jody of Covington, Judy Williams and husband, Darrell of Covington; two grandchildren, Dillon Williams and Travis Williams; one brother, Wayne William Andrews of Covington; one sister, Maxine King of Norfolk; a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Cecil Guy Andrews and Beulah Carpenter Andrews, Mr. Andrews was preceded in death by a brother, Lyle Duane Andrews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:30 P.M. Tuesday, February 9, 2010, in the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Richard Vinson officiating.

Interment will be held at a later date.

Military Honors will be presented by the Curtis A. Smith Post 1033 Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Pallbearers will be Willy Byer, Wallace Byer, Tony Nicely, Mike Dabbs, Wayne Mann, Ron Smith, Larry Peters, and J.R. Andrews.

Alternate pallbearer will be Mike Andrews.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ralph Watson, Jack Noel, and David Chestnut.

The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 7:00 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. at Loving Funeral Home.

The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Alleghany Humane Society, P.O. Box 60, Low Moor, VA 24457.
