Darrell Ray Nicely
Darrell Ray Nicely, age 78, of 202 Stacks Lane, Clifton Forge, Virginia died on Thursday, November 28, 2024 at The Brian Center, Low Moor.
Darrell was born on June 13, 1946 in Alleghany County, Virginia to the late Carlous Ray “Old Man” Nicely and Bonnie Elise Williams Nicely. He served in the United States Army Reserve and lived in the Roanoke area for many years. He was the Owner/Manager for Pizza King, and manager of the service department at Sears, retiring after a long, successful career. Following his retirement to the Longdale area, he enjoyed working for Bennett Sawmill, and was a faithful servant of the Lord, attending Longdale United Methodist Church. He loved hunting, fishing, and watching sports.
In addition to his parents, Darrell was preceded in death by his wife, Diane Lynn Perdue Nicely.
He is survived by his children, Jodie Woods of Buchanan and Brandie Nicely of Troutville; a brother, C.R. Nicely (Donna) of Clifton Forge; a sister, Cheryl Nicely (Kim Pitts) of Roanoke; four grandchildren, Krystal Hallman, Daryl Hallman, Levi Holdren, and Jakari Nicely; several great grandchildren; great nephews, Dalton Nicely of Daleville, and Ethan Nicely and Caden Nicely, both of Clifton Forge; and a great great nephew, Charles Roscoe Nicely.
In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
