A Covington woman has been arrested on a drug charge following an investigation by the Alleghany Highlands Drug Task Force.
Sarah Ashley Lemons, 22, was arrested after task force officers executed two search warrants Wednesday.
Lemons faces a felony charge of possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute.
Lemons has been released from custody on a secured bond.
She was taken to the Alleghany Regional Jail in Covington following her arrest.
Alleghany County Sheriff Kevin Hall said the search warrants were executed Wednesday following an ongoing investigation by the drug task force.
The first search warrant was executed at 306 S. Lexington Ave., and the second at 1002 Beverly St. Officers seized crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia, two vehicles, cash, household items and other items.
Hall said officers from the Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office and Covington Police Department assisted in the searches and the arrest.
Additional charges against Lemons are pending, he said.
The Highlands Drug Task Force consists of officers from Virginia State Police, the Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office, the Bath County Sheriff’s Office, the Highland County Sheriff’s Office and the Covington Police Department.
