CRAIGSVILLE – Peggy Marie DeLoach, 62, of 2518 Estaline Valley Rd., Craigsville, died Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at her residence.
She was born December 18, 1947 in Fordwick in Augusta County. She was the daughter of the late Clayborn Woods and Elizabeth Benson Woods. She was married to Tommy Lee DeLoach whom she married on July 26, 1991.
Mrs. DeLoach worked at the Augusta Correctional Center for 24 years, where she currently was the records manager. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed her family and work with a passion. At her work she was often referred to as “The Pride Of Augusta”.
She is survived by her husband, Tommy Lee DeLoach of Craigsville; two sons, Donald Z. “Sugarfoot” Campbell of Craigsville, Cecil D. “Boo” Becker Jr. and wife, Connieof Richland, Mo.; two stepsons, Michael T. DeLoach and wife Giao, of Mockville, N.C., Christopher L. DeLoach and wife, Cindy of Grottoes; a brother, Clayborn Woods Jr. of Craigsville; three sisters, Shirley Woods, Barbara Spradlin and Darlene Eberwien all of Craigsville; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Woods and a sister, Judy Burke.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Lighthouse Church on Rt. 720 in Churchville, with Pastor Harold L. Wade officiating. Interment will be in the Craigsville Community Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Steve Sprouse, Dave Bryant, Roy McCutcheon, Jerry Walus, Leslie “Moose” Fleming and LaFayette “Fate” Fleming. Honors will be provided by the Augusta Correction Center Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday at the Craigsville Funeral Home or anytime at the residence,
