As the House wrapped up the District Work Period last week, Congress is returning to Washington to finish the 118th Congress. With the 119th Congress on the horizon, I am firmly committed to championing the values that matter most to Virginians. We will continue our oversight of the Biden/Harris Administration during these last upcoming weeks of session, including their poor record on the economy and the border. Last week, we honored the extraordinary sacrifices of our veterans on Veterans Day and celebrated 249 years of the United States Marine Corps. As always, it was great to meet with new folks and see familiar faces up and down the Shenandoah Valley. For the rest of the 118th Congress and the next, I will continue to fight for the people of Virginia’s Sixth District.
Looking Ahead To The New 119th Congress
Since 2019, I have proudly served our Commonwealth, dedicating myself to championing policies that reflect our shared values and aspirations. I have tirelessly worked to develop practical, impactful solutions to address the real challenges our communities face. As we enter the 119th Congress, I am ready to work with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to tackle the issues that matter most to Virginia’s Sixth District. Working together along with the incoming Trump Administration, we will strengthen our local economy, defend our freedoms, and empower families throughout the Nation. I will continue to fight the rest of the 118th Congress and the 119th Congress for a brighter future for every American family.
The Biden-Harris Administration Comes to an End
Under the Biden-Harris Administration, America has faced unprecedented challenges, marking a stark decline from where we were just four years ago. As the border czar, Vice President Harris has overseen policies that have fueled an open-border crisis, with over 10.8 million illegal crossings under her watch. Even more alarming, 385 illegal migrants on the FBI’s watchlist have attempted to evade Border Patrol, posing significant threats to our national security.
Under this Administration’s policies, American families have felt the pressure as gas prices skyrocketed by 49.9%, and inflation increased the cost of everyday goods by 19.9%. These failed policies have made it increasingly difficult for families to make ends meet. A staggering 52% of Americans now say they’re worse off than they were four years ago, highlighting the consequences of President Biden and Vice President Harris’s leadership and their policy decisions. Their troubling record reflects a legacy of rising costs, weakened borders, and waning confidence in America’s future. The American people have not overlooked these failures and won’t forget the damage caused by their ineffective leadership and misguided policies.
American Manufacturing Jobs Lost
Under the Biden-Harris Administration, America’s manufacturing sector has suffered greatly, losing 46,000 jobs in just one month, according to the October jobs report. Over the last three months, we have now lost a total of 78,000 manufacturing jobs, as reported by Fox News. This decline is a direct consequence of policies that have neglected American workers and businesses. Instead of championing domestic manufacturing, this Administration has imposed burdensome regulations and prioritized foreign interests, jeopardizing families across our great nation.
The Left’s failed strategies have stifled our economic potential for almost four years now, making it increasingly difficult for American families to thrive and for businesses to expand. To truly revitalize American manufacturing, we need leaders who stand firmly with American workers and put the future of our nation first—not those who push an agenda that ultimately cripples our economy and stifles job creation.
Honoring Veterans Day
On Veterans Day, we honor the unwavering courage and selfless sacrifice of our veterans who answered the call to serve our great nation. Their dedication and bravery have safeguarded the freedoms we cherish as Americans. We will forever be grateful for their extraordinary service and enduring commitment to our country.
Celebrating the U.S. Marine Corps Birthday
Happy 249th Birthday to the U.S. Marine Corps.
Last week, we honored the courage, strength, and dedication of our Marines, who are always ready to defend our freedoms by air, land, and sea. Our devoted Marines have demonstrated unwavering loyalty and sacrifice, answering the call to serve with pride. Thank you to all Marines, both past and present. Semper Fidelis.
