CLIFTON FORGE – James Weldon “Jimmy” Johnson, born April 15, 1950, in Clifton Forge, son of the late Major Forest Johnson and Alberta Hopkins Johnson, departed this life February 11, 2010 at Alleghany Regional Hospital in Low Moor.
He joined Main Street Baptist Church at an early age. He attended Clifton Forge High School and was employed with Smith-Curtis Funeral Home for some time and the C&O Railway.
Survivors include one brother, Don A. Johnson of Aiea, Hawaii; two nieces, Marie Davenport of Roanoke and Monica Martin of Bowie, Md.; a devoted cousin, Alice Gordon and husband Robert of Clifton Forge; a devoted companion, Linda Liptrap of Ross Lane, Clifton Forge and many cousins and friends.
One sister, Muriel M. Barnette and one brother, Marvin O. Martin preceded him in death.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time and are being handled by Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.
