CLIFTON FORGE – A Clifton Forge man, the son of a minister, was arrested and charged with possession of crack cocaine with the intent to distribute Wednesday following the execution of two search warrants in Clifton Forge.
Randall Wayne Jackson Jr. is being held without bond in the Alleghany Regional Jail on the drug charge according to Alleghany County Sheriff Kevin Hall.
The Alleghany Highlands Drug Task Force conducted the investigation and the Emergency Response Teams from Alleghany County and Covington Police Department gained entry into two homes simultaneously.
Jackson was found after law enforcement officers entered his residence at 1401 Jackson Street, Apt. 15. A, Clifton Forge and a warrant was also executed at 1108 Ingalls Street, Clifton Forge.
The Ingalls Street location is the home of Jackson’s parents, however, Hall said the subject’s parents are not a part of the investigation.
“They are not a target of the investigation,” Hall said.
Additional charges are pending and will likely be filed when the Alleghany County Grand Jury meets in October, Hall added.
Seized during the raid were approximately 30 grams of crack cocaine with a street value of $3,000; over $30,000 in vehicles including four vehicles and two motorcycles, a utility trailer, two handguns and ammunition, drug paraphernalia, digital scales and personal property belonging to Jackson.
Hall said the search was conducted at Jackson’s parents’ house to seize personal property allegedly purchased with proceeds of narcotic sales. About $4,000 in cash was also seized.
“It was excellent work between all agencies involved and the Drug Task Force,” Hall said. He lauded the cooperation among the Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Response Team and the Covington Police Department Emergency Response Team in entering the two dwellings and serving the warrants simultaneously.
Assisting with the search and arrest were special agents from the Virginia State Police and officers from the Clifton Forge Police Department.
The Alleghany Highlands Drug Task Force consists of officers from the Virginia State Police, the Alleghany, Bath and Highland county sheriff’s offices and the Covington Police Department.
