In accordance with the authority vested in me as Governor, I hereby order that the flags of the United States of America and the Commonwealth of Virginia be flown at half-staff on all state and local buildings and grounds in the Commonwealth of Virginia in memory and respect of former Virginia Senator Frank M. Ruff, Jr. We honor his three decades of unwavering commitment to serving the Commonwealth. Senator Ruff’s dedication has shaped policies and initiatives that will be felt across the Commonwealth not for years—but generations to come, establishing a lasting legacy that reflects his profound impact on the community.
I hereby order that the flags shall be lowered at sunrise on Friday, November 1, 2024, and remain at half-staff until sunset.
