Pastor Glenn, of Covington Baptist Church, would like to thank all of Alleghany Highlands for their help with Hurricane Relief efforts in North Carolina. Thank you, Food Lion, for providing a location that gave everyone easy access as well as central location site for donations. We had churches, companies and individuals throughout Alleghany Highlands donate.
Thank you to several business who helped us: Image Express for your quick response for quality signs; trailer donated by Franson Insurance; box truck by Matt at Garten Trucking; and as donations continued to increase, Emmett Boguess of J&E Auto who located and donated a 26’ U-Haul which gave us enough space to drive one vehicle.
An unusual donation of fourteen boxes of lap quilts by Mary Anne’s Antiques and Things provided warmth to many individuals. Matt Crookshanks and Tommy Hubbard delivered donations on October 18. On October 23 CBC delivered 250 bagged lunches to several locations in North Carolina.
There were numerous volunteers who helped and encouraged one another. Our hearts were moved when individuals stayed to help and others shared how much they wanted to donate. We live in a wonderful community that wants to share their love and resources with others.
