HOT SPRINGS - Kenneth “Kenny” Allen Pritt, 53, of 387 Loggers Road, Hot Springs, died Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 9, 1956, in Covington, the son of Virginia “Helen” Campbell Pritt and the late Clarence Melvin Pritt.
He was married to Shannon Lorraine Pritt, whom he married Aug. 9, 1980.
Mr. Pritt was a self-employed logger and farmer. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved the outdoors. Horses were his passion. Auctions were a favorite past time.
He is survived by his mother, Helen Virginia Campbell Pritt of Hot Springs; his loving wife, Shannon Lorraine Pritt of Hot Springs; two children, Gregory Pritt and wife Jessica of Warm Springs, Jess Pritt and girl friend Céline Finel of Harrisonburg; a granddaughter, Reaghan Pritt of Warm Springs; a stepgrandson, Jezdon Carter of Warm Springs; two brothers, Donald Pritt of Hot Springs and Wayne Pritt and wife Laura of Goshen; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert “Bob” N. and Della Joan Ashby of Auberry, Calif.; three sisters-in-law, Jannette Weyand and husband Jim, Angela Ashby, and Barbette Dunn and husband Jim; his extended brothers and sisters and their families; 16 nieces and nephews, Randy Pritt, Kaylen Pritt, Karlie Pritt, Lori Kay Gravely, Stacey Pritt and Josh Pritt, Emily Baker, Michele Baker, Sherrie Ashby, Jessica Ashby, Bobby Weyand, Gary Weyand, Courtney Beihn, Toyahni Beihn, Taetum Dunn and Jacob Dunn; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and the many special friends who touched his life
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Shyrle Baker; a brother-in-law, Kevin Ashby; and a niece, Heather Baker.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Shaver officiating. Interment will be in Union Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Randy Pritt, Josh Pritt, Mike Hooker, Wayne Hooker, Ronald Nicely, Ronald Whampler, Keith Simmons and Paul Keyser. The family will receive friends this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home.
