HINES, W.Va. – Curtis James McClung, 56, formerly of Rupert, W.Va., died Saturday, February 13, 2010 at his home following a short illness.
Born March 8, 1953 at Smoot, W.Va., he was the son of the late Houston “Huse” and Mazie Bennett McClung.
Other than his parents, we was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Harper Mines; and a nephew, Richard “Richie” Tincher.
Curtis enjoyed Greenbrier West basketball and was an assistant scorekeeper for the team for several years. He enjoyed reading, watching television, and spending time with his dog, Princess.
Surviving are two sisters, Jean McClung Morris of Taneytown, Md., and Helen Osborne and husband Don of Covington; two nephews, Keith Tincher and John Harper; four nieces, Wendy Halsey, Kathy Thomas, Angela Maurer and Cyrena Bennett.
A private funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Wallace Memorial Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. Bill Cruse officiating.
Friends and extended family may call one hour prior to the service at the Mausoleum Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Union Mission Church of Hines, W.Va. 25958.
Burial will follow at Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville, W.Va.
