Heather Alan Downer, age 41, of Clifton Forge and Covington, Virginia died on Saturday, October 19, 2024.

Heather was born on August 19, 1983 in Low Moor, Virginia. She was a certified nursing assistant.

Heather was preceded in death by a step-brother, David Foss.

Heather was the daughter to Michael Alan Downer and wife Dawn of Covington, and Christi Lynn Pillow Foss and husband Thomas Foss of Vinton. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her daughter, Makaylah Brook Hall of Clifton Forge; three sisters, Ashley Nicely and husband Robert of Covington, Chelsea Claire Napier of Bedford, and Faith Paige Downer of Salem; a step-brother, Justin Foss of Illinois; a maternal grandmother, Betty Lowen of Covington; a paternal grandmother, Mary Downer of Covington; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with ­­Reverend Edith Snedegar officiating. Interment will follow in Central Advent Christian Cemetery, Clifton Forge. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends at the time of the service. The family will receive friends on Wednesday afternoon from 12:30 PM until the time of the service at Nicely Funeral Home.
