AUSTIN, Minn. (AP) – Hormel Foods Corp. says it’s buying the Country Crock side dish line from Unilever United States.
The line includes 10 varieties of refrigerated, microwavable potato- and pasta-based side dishes. Hormel makes refrigerated entrees, which are mainly meat or poultry.
Hormel CEO Jeffrey Ettinger says the line complements the company’s existing products and will help it grow its “convenient meals” segment.
The Austin Daily Herald reports the transaction is expected to close by February. Terms were not disclosed.
