ALLEGHANY COUNTY, Va. – Virginia State Police is investigating a vehicle verse a bicycle crash which resulted in a fatality. The crash occurred Saturday (Sept 28) at 9:50 a.m. on Route 42, near Matthews Lane in Alleghany County.
A 2018 Dodge Ram was traveling south on Route 42, when the vehicle struck a bicycle which was also traveling south on Route 42 at the crest of a hill.
The rider of the bicycle was identified as Conor Ryan Chadwick, 31, of Clifton Forge, Va. Mr. Chadwick was injured and transported to Lewis Gale, Alleghany Hospital where he later died.
The driver of the Dodge was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
