Set against a background of open fields and mountains, Ashleigh Anne Williams and Joshua Chad Nickell were united in marriage on July 18, 2009, at Sugar Run Farm in Covington, at four-thirty in the afternoon.

As guests arrived, they were escorted by Tripp Tyree and Corey Angell, cousins of the bride, through a path of baby’s breath to enjoy pre-wedding selections by Rod Stewart.

The farm was decorated with square grapevine wreaths with seeded eucalyptus and baby’s breath. Tin pails accented with ribbon were filled with white hydrangea, baby’s breath, white New Guinea impatiens, accented with seeded eucalyptus leaves.

The mother of the bride, Debbie Williams, was escorted by her son, Shane Williams. The mother of the groom, Tammy Dilley, was escorted by the groom, Chad Nickell. The mothers were seated to The Wedding Song by Kenny G. They each carried white rosebuds in memory of loved ones and placed them in memorial tins. Each mother wore black and white to compliment the wedding colors.

Skipper Williams, father of the bride, rang the outdoor farm bell for the chiming of the hour. At the chiming of the hour, the groom joined by Nick Baker, celebrant, entered the ceremony taking their places at the arbor. The bridal party processed in to Pachelbel’s Canon in D.

Bridesmaids were Melissa Williams, sister in-law of the bride, Brooke Angell, Kacey Angell, Daylin Tyree, Charity Hale, and, Tara Uzzell, all cousins of the bride. The bridesmaids wore black strapless, chiffon dresses with ruched bodices and asymmetrical hems. Each carried white mini calla lilies with stems wrapped in black sheer ribbon with pearls lining the center.

The bride was escorted by her father through a pathway of hanging tin pails cascading with ivy and baby’s breath to the arbor. The bride and her father processed to Somewhere Over The Rainbow played on dobros by Gary Dilley and Joe DiFede. The bride wore a strapless gown with a beaded and metallic embroidered bodice and chiffon split front overlay.

The chapel train was embellished with beads and metallic embroidery. The two tier elbow length veil had a corded scalloped edge, embellished with teardrop crystals throughout. She wore a diamond necklace and engraved bracelet, gifts from her parents.

The bride carried a bouquet of white mini calla lilies, roses, hydrangea, and fiddlehead ferns hand tied with white sheer ribbon with black sheer ribbon braiding the stem and accented with pearls.

The ceremony included scripture readings from the book of Corinthians. Following the exchange of vows and rings, the couple used the sand ceremony as a symbol of the joining of their lives, as the selection You and Me by the Dave Matthews Band was played.

After the blessing and presentation of the bride and groom, the couple recessed down the path of tins through the farmhouse to All You Need is Love by the Beatles. The couple left on a decorated golf cart for a ride through the fields of the farm.

The couple returned to a small reception at the farm. The wedding and reception were planned and directed by Dianne Garcia of Everyday Elegance. The flowers for the wedding and reception were designed and made by Beverly Angell, aunt of the bride.

The bride’s parents hosted an outdoor reception with catered dinner for family and friends later in the evening at the Covington Moose Lodge. As the music, Riding Along In My Automobile played, the couple arrived at the reception in a 1968 Corvette, given to them by the groom’s father, Nick Nickell. The reception site was decorated with white hexagonal tents with hanging ferns and lime green and white Chinese lanterns The tables were set with white linens accented with black and white polka dotted toppers The center pieces were large white flower pots with green mums and fiddle head ferns, which complimented the bridal bouquet. Each place setting had a square charger accented in lime green holding a black napkin inserted with a program of the evening’s events. No Lifeguard on Duty provided an evening of dancing and celebration.

Prior to the wedding, Melissa Williams and Dianne Garcia hosted a Tinis and Toes on the Terrace of the Garcia home in honor of Ashleigh and her bridal party. Martinis and hors d’oeurves were served as the bride and bridal party had their toes polished for the wedding day.

The Salon of Elaine Mitchell provided the toe polishing. The bride was also honored with a Longaberger and Pampered Chef shower by her family, Mary Tyree, Janie Tyree, Tara Uzzell, and Charity Hale. On the evening of July 17, the groom’s family hosted a barbecue at the Moose Lodge for the bridal party, family, and friends of the bride and groom.
