Approval of the minutes of: (1) a regular meeting held on September 3, 2024.
PUBLIC HEARING:
Public Hearing to consider an amendment to the County Operating Budget for Fiscal Year 2024-25. The amendment is needed due to carry forwards in the amount of $2,951,568, and outstanding encumbrances in the amount of $3,586,644.06 from the Fiscal Year 2023-24 budget. The total budget amendment is $6,538,212.06.
PUBLIC COMMENT:
VIRGINIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (VDOT) UPDATE:
Ms. Susan Hammond, VDOT Resident Engineer – Update.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS: None.
NEW BUSINESS:
Sheriff Kyle Moore – Quarterly update (animal control, litter control, etc.).
Mr. Tom Botkins – Discuss Phase V of the Jackson River Scenic Trail.
An appointment to represent the Covington District needs to be recommended to the Circuit Court Judge for the Board of Zoning Appeals. The term would begin November 1, 2024 and expire October 31, 2029.
