STUARTS DRAFT – Alleghany picked up their fifth win of the season on Thursday, September 5th, following a straight set victory on the road over Stuarts Draft as they won 25-16, 25-11, 25-14.
Senior Kaiya Lian led the way for the Cougars with a game-high 14 kills to go along with five aces, and four digs. Meanwhile, senior Bryce Leitch led the team in digs with seven, three solo blocks, and six kills. Sophomore Kendra Dressler had 29 assists.
Alleghany (5-0) swept its regular season matchup with Stuarts Draft. The Cougars play at Carroll County on Tuesday evening as the Cougars begin district play.
The day before on Wednesday, September 4th, Alleghany was victorious over Rockbridge County for a second time this season after picking up another straight set victory, winning 25-16, 25-22, 25-17.
Lian led the way with 11 kills, four aces, and a team-high 14 digs. Dressler led the team with 32 assists and 13 digs, while Leitch and senior Laken Tingler each added eight kills in the win.
On Saturday, August 30th, the Cougars picked up their first win over Stuarts Draft following a four-set volleyball contest as they won 25-15, 25-9, 28-30, 25-15.
Lian led the way for AHS with 16 kills and 11 digs. Tingler added 9 kills and 10 digs, while Dressler had 33 assists, nine digs, and seven aces. Leitch added eight kills.
